The Shetland Textiles Network is a multidisciplinary collective of makers, designers, artists, business leaders, industry experts and educators dedicated to preserving and advancing Shetland's rich textile tradition.

The network aims to connect practitioners, foster innovation, facilitate training and support creative practices across various textile disciplines, in art and applied design, including woven, knitted, printed and constructed textiles.

The network has received funding for its initial year (2024-25) from the national Create:Networks initiative. Through a series of workshops and projects focused on sustainable practice, creative entrepreneurship, business development and training, the network seeks to nurture emerging talent and support local textile practitioners into the future.

Further details will be shared in the coming months. For more information about the network, to find out how you can be involved, or if you would like to be added to the mailing list, please email us at the address below.
